Kubica Loses the Hat Wars

Ever since I saw Nelson Piquet Jr sporting a backwards cap, this trend in F1 has been on my radar. Because numerous drivers wear their caps backwards from time to time, it’s hard for me to choose which one sports the backwards cap the best. However I can say with 99.9% certainty that Kubica has lost the backwards cap war. The Oakleys perched on top did not do Kubica any favors either.

Sorry Kubica fans, he just doesn’t look as cool as other drivers!

Kubica to Join Alonso at Ferrari?

Yes yes, the rumors of Kubica joining Ferrari have been circulating for some time. Normally I wouldn’t join the bandwagon (especially on this blog 😉 ), but this fabulous photo of Kubica in Singapore surfaced. Was Kubica doing an impression of Alonso’s super pouty lip? If so, he did a mighty fine job! Perhaps Kubica could match Alonso evenly after all?

hmmm…. the sad Nando is pretty tough to beat though! 😉

The Fight for the Championship

It’s a fearsomely close battle this season! There are just so many pairs of ugly sunglasses to blow everyone’s minds. Don’t worry, I have been diligently compiling photos all throughout the season. Here are the top competitors for this championship as seen in Monza:

As mentioned in my previous post, we have the notorious Michael Schumacher:

Though he appears to have less ugly pairs of sunglasses than the King, Kubica is a strong contender:

Despite loving his Lotus team sunglasses on his twitter account, Kovalainen’s sunglasses are quite loud and yucky:

Of course, Baby Schumi (aka Vettel) might be the fan favorite to win this championship:

Are these new? I don’t believe I’ve seen them before. heh.

Who shall take this prestigious title? It’s an exciting and nail biting fight…

The Renault Team Has Been Chopped

It seems that both Renault drivers have had their hair cut for Spa. Well, I’m not so sure about Kubica actually… Kubica’s hair could just be extremely flat in the following photo… but I’m pretty sure it’s shorter:

Petrov’s cropped hair makes him less of a killer, which is a good thing:

But, Petrov’s hair looks quite fluffy… sort of like a dandelion, don’t you think?

Heikki in the Lead for Championship After Canada

The new contender for the Ugly Sunglasses Championship of F1 has appeared in Montreal. It is Heikki Kovalainen! Oh my eyes these are ugly!!! In Heikki’s defense, he IS a stylish guy and I’m quite sure he was wearing these sunglasses because they are a part of the team uniform. They do say “Lotus Racing” on the lenses and are in the team colors (sort of… the green is not the deep British racing green). PLEASE Heikki, don’t wear these anymore. You’re not getting a thumbs up from me!

Is Vettel’s crown as owner of the Ugliest Sunglasses in F1 under threat? Maybe! I think it’s pretty hard to top Heikki’s Lotus Racing sunglasses. However Vettel and Kubica still have more pairs of ugly sunglasses and that has to be taken into account as well. We’ll have to see how things progress for the remainder of the season, so stay tuned~

The Real Battle of the Turkish Grand Prix

The real battle this weekend happened to be off the track. What I mean is that for some reason a few drivers decided to bring out a pair of their ugliest sunglasses for the grand prix. Let’s start with one of the main offenders… Vettel.

I’ve seen this pair of sunglasses many times and I can’t say they have grown on me at all. These white sunglasses are still as ugly as the first time I spotted them. Vettel was wearing Oakley Men’s Scalpel Iridium Sport Sunglasses.

All right… next contender for ugliest sunglasses battle is of course Robert Kubica.

Timo Glock decided to join in this weekend as well. Glock and Kubica might be wearing the same style of sunglasses (at the very least they are the same brand. I believe they are both wearing Oakley Men’s Oil Rig Iridium Sunglasses)…have a look:

So who is the big winner in Turkey? Who has the ugliest pair of sunglasses this weekend? My vote goes to Vettel… at least he is leading the championship in terms of the ugliest sunglasses? Ouch =x
