It has been just about forever since my last F1 WAG fashion post, hasn’t it? Well, there’s no better way to kick off the Australian GP than with the always cute, Isabell Reis:
Isabell was spotted in Melbourne wearing a simple scoop neck tshirt with green skinny jeans. She also wore black and green bracelets, the green one almost looked a bit like a jade bangle. However, upon further inspection, there was a gold ring around the edge, so it may be an enamel bangle. The look was completed with a feminine black peeptoe shoe with bows.
Colored denim is everywhere now, especially with the color blocking trend. I think it can look a bit 80’s, so one must be careful with styling. Personally, I have already gone off the deep end and worn red and kelly green denim myself. Yes, despite the fear of looking like a Female EJ, I did it. And so can you (if you want…).
If you want to replicate Isabell’s look, it will be a bit difficult. Hey, it’s just jeans and a tshirt, how hard could it be? Well, there lies the rub. The tshirt must be quite fitted, even at the sleeve. In addition, the sleeve is also a bit long, so avoid cap sleeves for a true re-creation. I found a few different shirts available at all price points.
There are cheaper tshirts available, but they tend to have a wider sleeve, so I won’t post them up here.
While colored denim is indeed everywhere… the replicating the tone of Isabell’s jeans will be a bit of a challenge. Many of the green jeans that are for sale are more saturated or completely the wrong tone. There are many brands selling mint green, kelly green, and emerald green jeans… but Isabell’s jeans appear to be more muted, a diluted cool green.
Isabell appears to be wearing a black wrap bracelet, which can be duped easily. Or if you are cheap like me, consider wrapping a thin leather belt around your wrist. This is only doable if the leather isn’t overly stiff. If you happen to have a jade bangle, that would work nicely. Otherwise, there are fun pieces at places like Forever 21:
I’m a lil late to the partay, but Fernando Alonso and Raquel del Rosario have announced their break up. Aww :(. Apparently they are remaining “friends,” so who knows, perhaps Raquel will be seen in the paddock after awhile. F1 fashion fans will surely miss seeing Raquel at GPs, she tends to mix up her style a bit more than other F1 WAGs.
One of my favorite looks from Raquel was from Suzuka 2010:
If you like Raquel’s style, she posts many photoshoots on her official blog, click this link to visit it. Many of the photoshoots are well done (as they should be :P) and have a neo-bohemian vibe to them. Think Anthropolgie catalog. 😉 For those who have never seen an Anthro catalog, feel free to browse their website: anthropologie.com* Their catalogs may also be viewed online, here.
Goodbye Raquel, I’ll miss your neo-bohemian and wannabe tough girl outfits. Love is a very splendid thing… and I’m sure you’ll find it again. ❤
*Should I also add that they are doing 50% off sale items in-store and online? 😉 Yes, I am evil.
Spring (and the start of the F1 season) will be here before we know it. I thought it would be nice to do a sort of “virtual shopping” post for the pretty and fabulous WAGs of F1.
Are you ready? This will be a rather long post as I found tons of cute lil dresses for the lovely ladies. My picks are a combination of: what I think certain WAGs would wear, what I think would look good on certain WAGs, and things I like.
The question for the readers is… can you tell which is which? 😉
Mercedes announced yesterday on twitter (@OfficialMGP) that Nico Rosberg would be attending Berlin Fashion Week, since it is sponsored by them. 😛 Mercedes also sponsors New York’s Fashion Week. (I think this fact is well known, but I thought I’d throw this tidbit out there for those who are more into motorsport than fashion.) Of course… being me… I just had to reply in such a manner: I can’t wait to see how many buttons Rosberg has undone haha.
Shall we have a look now that photos are available? 😉
Nico was wearing a grey suit with taupey grey suede shoes. It looks good, though a little “safe.” I think I’d like to see some interesting layering from Nico, but that’s just a look I’m into at the moment. He was also sporting the “stylishly disheveled” look with a slight beard and carefully styled hair. Rosberg’s hair looks like he just ran his fingers through his hair with a bit of wax… but I don’t really think that was the case. 😉
Of course, Rosberg would not be Rosberg without some shirt buttons undone. However it appears that Rosberg showed a little bit of restraint this time. It looks like he only had two buttons undone, instead of his normal three! What do the readers think? Maybe someone secretly reads this blog or my tweets! (haha… I wish!!!)
With his new-ish haircut… Rosberg has returned to looking like dear old Leonardo di Caprio (before Leo got fat). Since I didn’t do a post when he first chopped off his blonde locks, I shall provide a comparison photo now:
The hair… the lil beard… the shirt buttons. It’s three for three! @_@
But wait a second… that was not Vivian Sibold…it was Karolína Kurková?
I don’t want to look like I am always picking on Jessica, so I will also point out Karolína Kurková’s visible BLACK BRA. See, I am fair. 😛
Don’t worry! Leo didn’t forget his important girl Vivian Sibold… they were seen at the Rena Lange show:
Vivian wore a white puff sleeved sweater with a taupe-grey velvet mini skirt, and a fur coat. She paired the skirt with fitted grey suede over the knee boots, which I really love. In fact, I am currently lusting over a pair of Opening Ceremony x Robert Clergerie boots:
So so cute right?
I am basing this guess on the top stitching at the top of the shaft, the mid section join, and the center seam in the front. However, if there is another boot that is closer to Vivian’s, please let me know.
While I could not find the boots currently in grey, they are available for the low low price of 892 euros on mytheresa.com (brown, size 35). The Gazolina boot retails for $2295 USD and is currently available in black suede and leather.
Sorry I can’t ID the watch cause I’m not big on watches so I am sadly ignorant about them. If anyone wants to chime in, please do so. I will credit you 😉
So what do the readers think? Both Nico and Vivian get a “pass” from me*. 🙂
* This is good by the way… as opposed to… “not passing” 😛
F1 will be broadcast in HD this year. Hooray! Yeah! All the action will be so clear, it’s like a dream come true for motorsport fans.
So who is actually HD ready? I’m not talking about the HD television sets in your houses, I’m talking about the F1 circus. It should go without saying that the cars and action will look great. 😉
Let’s start out with the good (aka HD ready):
As I’ve pointed out several times on this blog… Lewis Hamilton has the most fantastic skin on the grid. He is most certainly HD ready:
Nicole Scherzinger’s hair will also be great in HD. Imagine it swishing around while she paces back and forth ever so dramatically in the McLaren garage:
Super cutie Isabell will also be just fine:
It’s too bad the coverage doesn’t catch cute actions like this… but that’s okay I guess . 😛
I’m sure most fans will enjoy seeing Jessica Michibata:
Nothing can ever be pure good… are F1 fans ready to see the leader… err I mean Bernie in HD?
I’m not so sure I want to see Bernie in all of his “glory” in HD. I mean, high resolution digital images are bad enough anyway.
I suppose the silver lining is that my screen captures for 2011 will be much higher quality than 2010’s. ~_~
While EJ’s shirts are often a topic of controversy… I hope his infamous sweat will not be captured in HD for us:
Is the world ready for John Button’s unbuttons?
Alonso will need to take extra care to upkeep his eyebrows because we will be able to see any and all stray hairs:
What is everyone looking forward to seeing in HD this season? What scares you? Let me know via comment or twitter! 🙂
Hey hey… I know the photos from Korea have been released already… but there’s one more post for Suzuka: The Suzuka Rain Battle! 🙂
The first contender is Raquel del Rosario:
Raquel wore a red and black striped top with a navy military inspired jacket and skinny cut up jeans from Met. The booties she wore went well with military chic image.
Jessica also wore a striped sweater in black* and white. She paired the sweater with ankle length skinny jeans and black patent ballet flats. With her hair in a chignon, the overall look was quite classic and perhaps slightly nautical inspired.
So which striped top/skinny jean combination do the readers prefer? The more classic look of Jessica or the harder edged look of Raquel? 🙂
* Or was it navy? Hard to tell!
P.S. I prefer Raquel’s look, but it is just closer to my personal aesthetic and way of dressing. 🙂
