Suzuka’s Rain Battle

22/10/2010 3 comments

Hey hey… I know the photos from Korea have been released already… but there’s one more post for Suzuka: The Suzuka Rain Battle! 🙂

The first contender is Raquel del Rosario:

Raquel wore a red and black striped top with a navy military inspired jacket and skinny cut up jeans from Met. The booties she wore went well with military chic image.

Raquel’s competition is Jessica Michibata:

Jessica also wore a striped sweater in black* and white. She paired the sweater with ankle length skinny jeans and black patent ballet flats. With her hair in a chignon, the overall look was quite classic and perhaps slightly nautical inspired.

So which striped top/skinny jean combination do the readers prefer? The more classic look of Jessica or the harder edged look of Raquel? 🙂

* Or was it navy? Hard to tell!

P.S. I prefer Raquel’s look, but it is just closer to my personal aesthetic and way of dressing. 🙂

Baby Mama

Rafaella Bassi returned to the paddock in Monza with baby Felipinho in tow. Again she kept it low key in a white tank top, mirrored aviators, and her camel Chanel bag (the nanny is carrying it for her HAHA). Unfortunately, the bottom half is not visible due the the stroller. I wonder if the Benetton bag was filled with new goodies or simply used to hold various items.

As I suspected earlier, the nanny does indeed sport a Gucci diaper bag.

Here’s a closer shot of the cute Felipinho:

Such a stylish baby must be the work of Rafaela. Felipinho was all dressed up to go to the paddock in his rugby polo shirt and Puma tennis shoes. I wonder if these shoes were free/sponsored by Puma? It does make one wonder at times!

Sunny Side Up

Look it’s another sunny yellow item from Raquel del Rosario. During qualifying, she wore a yellow halter dress by BCBG. This dress was cute, but due to the tent shape it is unrealistic for certain body types to wear it. Luckily for Raquel she is thin enough to pull it off. She also used a black Chanel bag, likely the classic medium flap. However I can’t make an ID for sure without visual confirmation of the size. 🙂

The shoes were a bit clunky due to the wooden platform. Not to mention that wooden platforms are murder on feet. =x I couldn’t find the exact pair of shoes that Raquel wore, but this pair by KORS Michael Kors comes close:

Sunny Days are Here

Raquel brought some sunshine with her, just look at the cute yellow bag! In Sring/Summer 2009 Chanel released two yellow bags in two different leathers (caviar and lambskin). The caviar color name was 10C and the lambskin version was named Jaune. It’s a little hard to tell which one Raquel was using by the color since the bag is in shadow (10C is a warmer yellow while Jaune was significantly cooler). I’m guessing this is the lambskin one though. However I am not a rabid Chanel fan… so I could be wrong.

Raquel was also wearing Ray Ban plastic aviators and a beaded necklace. Her outfit was youthful and casual. I like the way she tied the belt, but it made the dress bunch up unattractively thus making a faux muffin top. This could probably be solved by belting the dress higher, perhaps at the natural waistline.

I wish there were some pictures of the shoes though… but I hope to see more of Raquel this weekend. yey!

Thanks to Melodie for the photos with Raquel’s shoes:

I’m trying to identify these shoes, but I’m not sure yet. They remind me of the Ann Demeulemeester buckle booties, but I don’t think they came in beige. Also the Demeulemeester booties have more straps than Raquel’s shoes. Arg! >_< A similar pair is available from Surface to Air:

Melodie has also identified Raquel’s dress, it is from La vie de Rosita. Thanks! 🙂

Raquel’s shoes may also be Sandro (thanks again to Melodie). Sandro is available at, but it seems the beige is out of stock now. For those who have trouble buying Sandro, consider Jeffrey Campbell shoes. JC always copies “hot shoes” from high end designers (Balmain, Ann Demeulemeester, Acne, Alexander Wang etc).

Grey and White Matter

hmm. I usually enjoy Corina Schumacher’s outfits, but there’s something off about this one. Most of the items look good on their own, but all together I’m not so sure. I think it’s the white t-shirt with the knit vest; the shape of the sleeve makes it look a bit awkward. Or maybe it’s the shoes? I’m also not the biggest fan of white shoes (especially wedges) and white jeans. White is a great color for summer, but maybe it’s just my personal bias speaking this time…

I believe that Corina is carrying a Bottega Veneta Elephant Cabat. I’m not sure about the size, but it might be the “medium” size. If you like this bag, the color elephant is probably not currently available in stores as it was a seasonal color. There are some lovely color options this season, but be prepared for sticker shock: the Cabat retails for $4700 USD (approximately… I don’t follow BV much and this may not be current pricing).

Valencia Wrap Up Post

I haven’t posted everything that I wanted to post about Valencia. But I have a really good excuse! I’ve been busy with producing a charity fashion show. Due to my laziness this will be a consolidation post.

I was also going to do another illustration for Vettel’s birthday… but I was designing garments instead. Yeah, lame. Sorry.

First we have Raquel del Rosario.

It’s been awhile since there have been photos of her in the paddock. I missed her! She’s so cute in her nautical striped top. I am not really liking her headband though, it makes the hair a bit messy looking. Unfortunately I could not find a high quality full body photo, but Raquel was wearing black shorts with this oversized top. I didn’t really like the shorts, they were very much like biker shorts… which just reminds me that the Tour de France is back. 😦 It’s gonna be three weeks of watching the most powerful butts and thighs in the world. Save me. But I guess Alonso likes cycling… so maybe he bought those shorts for her? JUST KIDDING.

Next we have Nicole …

Boy she really loves tops and dresses with embellishment, doesn’t she? This time it’s sequins! It seems like the embellishments are always arranged in these radiating arrays as well… This dress is just ok, it’s not my taste. But the drape and cut of the fabric really accentuates her curves. The dress is probably cut on the bias… which is all good if you don’t have too many.. ahem.. “lumps and bumps.” I’m not sure what brand this dress is, but it reminds me of some spring Versace pieces I have seen.

And of course we have the just-turned-25-not-that-long-ago-boy-Rosberg:

Yeah, I realize the motorhome is mirrored. That doesn’t change the fact that Rosberg looks like he is checking himself out (and apparently liking what he is seeing). Maybe he’s singing “I’m too sexy for my shirt” or something?

Since I didn’t make an illustration of Vettel yet… I have to poke fun since it was his birthday not too long ago:

Please shave Vettel… this is not very becoming. I don’t like scraggly beards. It didn’t look good on Jens and it doesn’t look good on you either. I know you want to be a world champion… but aiming for the ugly sunglasses world championship should be enough. Please don’t aspire for the bad facial hair championship as well.

I can’t leave out Alonso, it wouldn’t be fair:

Look at him… surrounded by the pxxp Santander logos… in an executive chair? Hello, new President of Santander Bank. Haha.

Last for the consolidation post is… Brazil vs Brazil

Who wore the Brazil jersey better? Barichello or Massa? I’m going to have to go with Barichello, since he is actually wearing it. Massa… just looked like he was playing Superman.

And there we have it. My memories of the European Grand Prix. It’s almost time for Silverstone!

Corinna Schumacher Does it Again

I’m talking about the tribal trend of course. Corinna was spotted wearing this tribal inspired outfit at Saturday’s practice. I’m not sick of the tribal trend on Corinna yet because she manages to make it different each time.

Corinna’s blouse was sheer and airy, giving it a feeling of lightness. The embroideries and embellishments at the neckline were a bit more subtle since they were silver, they blended into the blouse. She was also using her taupe colored Hermes Birkin again. Her pose seems to say, “Yeah, I love the tribal trend, so what?” haha.

Though she went a little overboard with the jewelry, I have to say I’m really loving the pieces she wore. The bracelet was great, it coordinated wonderfully with the details on the blouse. While I don’t like the cross pendent so much, overall the long charm necklace Corinna wore was really cute. I liked the wing charm especially. Here’s a closeup of her necklace:

Corinna even wore some floral hair pins:

I’m not sure the hair pins go too well with the ensemble, but I like them as stand alone objects… maybe with another outfit.

Corinna also wore jeans at the proper length, jeweled flip flops, and a burgundy pedicure as evident in this photo:

Thank you Corinna for wearing jeans at the right length. I think her feet look pretty small and cute… look at the tiny pinky toe nail! I like the dark burgundy nail polish she chose… but it bothers me that the pedicure was imperfect on the big toe nails. I hope she didn’t pay too much money for her pedicure (or here’s hoping she did it herself!).

Anyway, overall lovely summer outfit Corinna. If you decide you don’t like your jewelry anymore, please mail it to me… I’d love to have it. =P
