Alonso in Evisu Jeans

This photo is so funny… it looks like Alonso is a school kid pouting at the ball. Or perhaps having a stern word with the ball? Anyhoo, I noticed that Alonso was wearing Evisu jeans*. For those that are not into high end denim, Evisu started in 1997 Japan and is pretty popular worldwide now. But, I really hate their painted backpocket logo! Despite the painted seagull being the trademark of Evisu… it’s really ugly, it looks the artwork of an elementary school kid.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise for a F1 driver to wear high end denim… but now I wonder who else wears $$$ jeans as well!

*Thank God they are not rolled up like Glock.

I’ve also noticed Alonso wearing these jeans for the better part of the season off track and around the paddock. I also noticed while visiting the Puma Store in Soho NYC lately that they have a line of Evisu jeans exclusively made for Puma. So while its completely feasible that he has enough style (or a stylist) and more than enough money to afford these jeans, they’re probably a sponsorship commitment, being that Puma is the official supplier of Scuderia Ferrari.

Interesting! I hadn’t known that Evisu did a collaboration with Puma. Food for thought 😉
